紙を43回折ると月に届く厚さになる

紙は１回折ると２枚分の厚さになり、もう１回折ると倍の４枚、さらに１回折ると８枚分の厚さになる。つまり、もとの紙の厚さに紙を折った回数分だけ２をかけることで計算できる。厚さおよそ0.08mmの一般的なコピー用紙で考えると、42回折ったときの厚さはおよそ35万km、地球と月の距離はおよそ38万kmなので届かない。紙を43回折ったときの厚さはおよそ70万kmになり、月に届く。
